Copilot Health Is Microsoft's Doctor-Built Spin on Medical AI
Copilot Health aggregates data from over 50,000 U.S. hospitals and 50 wearable devices to offer users contextual health insights and clinician search features.
- This week, Microsoft launched Copilot Health as a separate, secure space inside Copilot to analyze medical records and wearable data via HealthEx from more than 50,000 U.S. hospitals and provider organizations.
- Earlier this year, Microsoft’s usage analysis found nearly one in five Copilot conversations involved personal symptom assessment and one in seven concerned caregiving, as it enters competition with OpenAI and Anthropic.
- Backed by ISO/IEC 42001 certification, Microsoft used an external panel of more than 230 physicians from 24 countries and Harvard Health answer cards for safety and clinical review.
- Users can join the Copilot Health waitlist now, limited to English-speaking adults in the United States, with initial free access and planned subscription plus user data controls for deletion and cut-off.
- Framing the launch, Microsoft described long-term ambitions as Mustafa Suleyman, Microsoft AI CEO, said 'We are really on the cusp of building a true medical superintelligence' but cautioned Copilot Health is not a substitute for professional medical advice amid regulatory concerns.
