The European Commission is heading, according to a Bloomberg report, to designate AWS and Azure as digital guardians under the DMA. The bill could force Amazon and Microsoft to facilitate interoperability and supplier change, although both companies question the need to add these rules to existing regulation.
According to ChainCatcher, market sources say that Microsoft (MSFT.O) and Amazon (AMZN.O)'s cloud businesses will face stricter scrutiny from the European Union.
