The guide outlines registration rules, absentee ballot deadlines and early voting options for Michigan voters ahead of the 2026 elections.
- Michigan voters prepare for the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. Residents have multiple options to cast ballots, including in-person on Election Day, Early Voting, or by Absentee ballot.
- Eligibility requires being a United States citizen and Michigan resident for at least 30 days. Voters can register online or in-person until 14 days before the Election, with same-day registration available at clerk offices.
- Early Voting must be offered for at least nine consecutive days, beginning Saturday, Oct. 24, and ending Sunday, Nov. 1. Sites operate for eight hours daily during this period.
- Voters can request an Absentee ballot by mail until 5 p.m. the Friday before the Election. Individuals who already voted may spoil their ballot by submitting a written request to their clerk.
- On Election Day, Polls remain open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents without valid ID can still vote after signing an affidavit at their polling location.
