Amick was the third Mets player to receive a promotion in the last two days, with Émilien Pitre being promoted to Triple-A from Double-A Binghamton and Elian Peña being promoted from Single-A St. Lucie to High-A to play with the Brooklyn Cyclones. The 23-year-old has been on a power surge since his trade to the Mets and is knocking on the door of the major leagues. Billy Amick was one of the two prospects acquired from the Minnesota Twins in the A.J. Minter trade. Amick, a second-round pick in the 2024 draft was slashing .217/.338/.482 with Wichita (Double-A) in the Twins farm system prior to the trade. However, since his arrival at Binghamton, Amick has been on another planet. He is slashing .304/.396/.783 for a 1.179 OPS with seven home runs in 46 at-bats.
