Microplastics are associated with a variety of health problems. More and more new evidence shows that microplastics interfere with the immune system and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and death. A study by the French food safety agency has made a surprising finding. According to its investigation, microplastics showed the highest contamination in drinks in glass bottles. Scientists believe that they are released into the drinks because of the metal caps that these containers usually have.
