With the U.S. deciding to restrict Instagram and Facebook usage time for youths under the age of 18, could similar measures be implemented in Korea? Meta, which reached an agreement with U.S. state governments to limit youth Facebook and Instagram usage, has reportedly decided to hold related discussions with the Korean government.
Meta is currently consulting with the Korean government regarding restrictions on youth social media usage time. It is reviewing the two-hour daily usage limit and late-night blocking measures implemented in the United States, and plans to strengthen protection modes by extending the youth account features applied to Instagram and Facebook to Threads.
