Mesa school district must tell parents about gender changes

The court ruled that parents can sue if schools withhold gender identity info, potentially affecting policies designed to protect gender-nonconforming students, under Arizona's Parents' Bill of Rights.

Parents have a legal right to sue public schools when they’re not informed that their children are choosing to identify themselves as a gender other than the one to which they were born, the Arizona Court of Appeals has ruled.
