Bärbel Bas defends her strong choice of words to criticise the welfare state. In the coalition, she says, it was agreed not to shorten achievements. However, one thing she holds to head of government Merz also good.
The Minister of Social Affairs and Chancellor Merz express different views on reforms of the welfare state. The SPD co-chief affirms her position and says: "We are a rich country.

For weeks, the government has been discussing reforms of the welfare state. Chancellor Merz considers the current system to be ineligible. Labour Minister Bas called this recently "Bullshit" - and continues to oppose cuts.
