Mercury End 4-Game Losing Streak with 93-73 Rout of Reeling Storm
Valeriane Ayayi scored 18 points and 10 rebounds as Phoenix used a 14-0 third-quarter run to pull away, AP said.
On Saturday, the Phoenix Mercury snapped a four-game losing streak by defeating the Seattle Storm 93-73, extending the Storm's franchise-tying losing skid to 10 straight games.
The Storm lost control during the second and third quarters, when they were outscored 62-37 by the Mercury. Seattle shot 48% in the opening quarter but finished at just 36% shooting.
With 18 points and 10 rebounds, Valeriane Ayayi led the Mercury, while teammates Noemie Brochant and Natasha Mack added double-doubles. Natisha Hiedeman's 20 points paced the Storm.
Coach Sonia Raman urged the team to "stay with the process and stay with the commitment to getting better" despite the 3-14 record during the difficult 2026 campaign.
The Storm return home Monday for a three-game homestand starting against the Dallas Wings, followed by matchups with the New York Liberty and Atlanta Dream.
