Several of Europe’s flagship companies – including automaker Mercedes-Benz and luxury group LVMH – are leading a corporate campaign aimed at taming Brussels’ response to new trade threats launched by Donald Trump, writes Bloomberg. Executives from groups in the auto, luxury goods and spirits industries have held informal meetings with American officials and pressed European capitals to reach a deal quickly to avoid a tariff escalation.
