Memorial Day Ceremonies to Honour Newfoundland Regiment Across the Province

Today is July 1st, Memorial Day in Newfoundland and Labrador. It marks a grim anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, on July 1st, 1916. During the battle, almost 800 Newfoundlanders went over the top, hundreds died. Just 68 answered roll call the next day.
