Melody “Mia” (Remenowsky) Ibanez, 86, of Dillsboro passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Mia was born April 4, 1940, in Jacksonville, Florida; birth father Rex McEachin (WWII) and Frances G. (Harris) Remenowsky. Mia married Dr. Jose G. Ibanez in 1982, and he preceded her in death in 2013. Mia worked in cardiology at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, and at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She also for her husband’s urology clinic in Cincinnati and within the Dearborn County Hospital network. She was on the groundwork of Hospice of Cincinnati when it began in 1977. She volunteered and was heavily involved in the Metropolitan Area Religious Coalition of Cincinnati (MARCC). Mia’s hobbies throughout her life included becoming a certified herbalist, owning her own tea and herbal shop, and teaching classes in the use of herbs. She loved gardening, traveling, and the fine arts. She enjoyed cooking and loved her family.

Melody “Mia” (Remenowsky) Ibanez, 86, of Dillsboro passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Flanary of Cincinnati and Nora (Paul) Flanary-Bowman of Dillsboro, grandchildren Samuel, Luke, and Grace Hall, Brooke Flanary- Nusky, Alexandra Mesisklis, and Olivia Mesisklis; great-grandchildren Brynna and Nicholas Flanary, Pamela Nusky and David Nusky, August Schwing, and Everest Trentman. Mia was preceded in death by her father August Remenowsky, mother Frances G. Remenowsky, birth father Rex McEachin, and granddaughter Sophia Grace Mesisklis. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro with Pastor Tom Work officiating. Memorials may be given in honor of Mia to PAWS of Deaborn County. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family in the weeks ahead.
