JAMMU AND KASHMIR, INDIA, JUL 21 – Mehbooba Mufti urges Rahul Gandhi to address state-driven targeting and forced evictions of Muslims, citing over 10,600 families displaced in Assam, during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
- On Monday, July 21, 2025, Mehbooba Mufti wrote a letter at the start of the Monsoon Session, urging Rahul Gandhi to raise concerns about Muslim disempowerment in India.
- Under the pretext of targeting `Bangladeshis` and `Rohingyas`, Mufti highlighted `more than 10,620 families` evicted in Assam, citing `the state revenue and disaster management department`, while `the ongoing Special Intensive Revision in Bihar` appears to be another effort to disempower Muslims.
- Speaking directly to the Leader of the Opposition, Mehbooba Mufti called Rahul Gandhi a `rare source of hope for the forgotten and voiceless`, and warned of `complete silence` when Muslims are targeted.
