The president of Escondida, Alejandro Tapia, conditioned the investments to respond to the demand for copper, to the existence of legal and tax certainties. On the same day, Antofagasta plc said that the government’s mega-reform “also includes the possibility of opting for tax stability agreements under certain investment conditions, which would benefit mining projects.”
