Support for Prime Minister Péter Magyar's ruling Tisza party fell in July after the poorly communicated presidential candidacy of chess player Judit Polgár. However, Tisza still maintains a significant lead over former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's Fidesz party.
A 3-5 percent decline for the ruling party, while Mi Hazánk grew significantly.
The hasty announcement of a presidential candidacy did not do the party any good.
The Prime Minister's Office, on behalf of the government, initiated the convening of an extraordinary session of the National Assembly for Monday and Tuesday last week. Recent surveys show that Péter Tisza's support is decreasing, but his advantage is still huge.
