Porter to launch flights from revamped Montreal airport
The new 21,000 m² terminal features nine boarding bridges and starts 12 coast-to-coast routes on June 15, aiming to boost connectivity for over three million Quebec residents.
- On Tuesday, YHU Infrastructure Partners and MET Montreal Metropolitan Airport announced the official opening of the new terminal on June 15, 2026, with Charles Roberge, CEO of YHU Terminal, stating the project will "redefine the way people travel in Montreal."
- Designed by Scott & Associates and built by PCL Construction, the 21,000-square-metre terminal results from extensive regional consultation, with construction beginning less than three years ago in August 2023.
- Porter Airlines will serve as the launch carrier, introducing 12 nonstop routes across Canada starting June 15 using its fleet of Embraer E195-E2 and De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.
- A partnership with regional airline Pascan Aviation will provide connectivity throughout Quebec and the Maritimes, with passengers able to purchase single tickets for both carriers ensuring seamless baggage connections.
- Located 15 km from downtown Montreal, the airport offers convenient access for over 50% of the regional population, and a 2024 survey found 77% of citizens support the development.
