The National Council does not want to know anything about a reduction in the fees for radio and television from today's 335 to future 200 francs per year. On Thursday, it rejected the popular initiative "200 francs are enough" with 116 to 74 votes in favour and two abstentions.
The radio and TV license fee, currently set at 335 francs per year, must not be lowered to 200 francs. The National Assembly rejected the SSR initiative by 116 votes to 74 on Thursday. It also rejected any counter-proposal. The matter is now before the Council of States.

On Thursday, the debate on the anti-SRG initiative entered its second round in the National Council. As a Federal Councilor, Albert Rösti (SVP) had to defend the SRG fees, which he had opposed as a National Councilor in the initiative committee.
