MeckEd to shut down, effective August 31

MeckEd, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting public education and student success in Mecklenburg County, will discontinue operations effective Aug. 31, the organization announced Tuesday. In a press release announcing its closing, MeckEd officials did not state a reason.
