- Immediately after that score, Phillip Bradford, McNeese defensive end, intercepted Aiden McCown and returned it 21 yards for a touchdown, making it 21-19.
- Lamar answered late with LaDamian McDowell's 9-yard touchdown run at 5:41 left, but Dominick Bolden broke up Aiden McCown's fourth-and-5 pass from the McNeese 43-yard line.
- With playoff implications looming, the Cardinals will learn on Sunday if they receive an at-large bid, while Coleby Hamm rushed for 131 yards and Xavier Coleman for 141 yards.
