Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has announced that public aid to eight African countries will now depend on their cooperation in the fight against illegal immigration to the archipelago
On a visit to the ultramarine department, the Prime Minister announced on Wednesday a tightening of the system to combat illegal immigration with more means of surveillance and interception. The government wants to increase the pressure on the countries of origin and transit of migrants.
While travelling on the archipelago without any additional credits, while some of the schools were not repaired after Cyclone Chido, the Prime Minister preferred to occupy the front of the fight against illegal immigration. Paris announced a reduction in development aid for countries that would not cooperate on this issue.
