Mayors’ council to vote on licence plate tax to fund public transit

Ruby Pratka The Record – LJI Drivers in Brome-Missisquoi could soon have to pay a tax of $30 to $35 per car per year in order to fund public transit in the region. Members of the MRC’s mayors’ council will vote on the proposal at the March 17 meeting. If the vote passes, the tax would come into effect in 2027.
