LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, JUL 7 – Mayor Karen Bass confronted a federal immigration operation involving over 100 agents and National Guard troops targeting gang activity; no arrests were made and protests followed, officials said.
- In downtown Los Angeles, Mayor Karen Bass confronted heavily armed federal immigration agents, demanding they immediately withdraw from MacArthur Park.
- The Trump administration has intensified immigration enforcement in Los Angeles, suing the city over its sanctuary policies, and deploying military-style raids last month.
- Agents with ICE, CBP and military units deployed by President Trump arrived in force with rifles on foot, horseback and in armored vehicles, disrupting a children’s summer camp where kids were corralled into a nearby basement.
