Mayo held off a late Monaghan rally after leading by seven in the 65th minute, with Kobe McDonald winning the final kick-out.
On Sunday, Mayo defeated Monaghan by one point in their All-Ireland Football Championship Round 1 clash in Clones, surviving a frantic late surge from the hosts.
