May U.S. wholesale inflation rose 0.1%; less than expected

The Consumer Price Index increased just 0.1% in May, and 2.4% annually, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Nor did tariffs manage to heat prices. In fact, clothing dropped by 0.4% and new cars fell by 0.3%. Core inflation (without food or energy) remained at 2.8%.
