Maxim Van Gils' first spell of the season has come to an end after just three days. The Belgian, as Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe announced late yesterday evening, suffered a fractured pelvis during the violent crash.

Pushed into the barriers by Jan Christen (UAE-XRG) in the finale of the Clasica Jaen this Monday, Maxim Van Gils suffers from a fracture of the basin. The 26-year-old Belgian puncher will be away from the pelotons for several months.
