PACKERS 31, BEARS 7 | Another Week, Another Starter Lost to Injury: Packers Fear Veteran Defensive Lineman Javon Hargrave Suffered Torn Achilles’
Javon Hargrave was injured while shedding a block, and analysts said the Packers could be facing a torn Achilles with only 24 defenders available.
- On Sunday, Packers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave suffered a likely season-ending Achilles injury during the 31-7 victory over the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.
- While shedding a block with less than two minutes remaining, the 33-year-old veteran pulled up limping before going to the ground; analysts suggested a torn Achilles, though an MRI is needed for confirmation.
- This marks the second Achilles injury for the Green Bay defense in consecutive weeks, following linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, as the team battles 16 total injuries after five games.
- Packers head coach Matt LaFleur faced criticism for leaving starters in during the blowout, though LaFleur noted he only had 25 or 27 defensive players in uniform.
- Hargrave has recorded 438 tackles and 49 sacks across 150 career games, including six stops in four games this season before this latest setback.
