Mastodon Announce New Album, Unveil "Snakes for Dinner" Featuring Josh Homme

- Mastodon announced their ninth studio album, Marrow Deep, arriving August 28 via Loma Vista Recordings, paired with the release of new single "Snakes For Dinner" featuring Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme.
- Founding members drummer Brann Dailor, bassist Troy Sanders, and guitarist Bill Kelliher recorded the album while processing the death of former guitarist Brent Hinds, who died in a motorcycle accident in Atlanta, Georgia last year.
- Recording at their Atlanta studio West End Sound with producers Patrik Berger and Kurt Ballou, Mastodon officially welcomed guitarist Nick Johnston and keyboardist Joao Nogueira, marking their first release as a five-piece ensemble.
- Homme's appearance marks his first Mastodon collaboration since contributing to "Colony of Birchmen" on 2006's Blood Mountain. The band will celebrate the release with "The Poisonous Weapons Tour," kicking off September 16 in Orlando.
- Inspired by the Three Fates of Greek mythology, Marrow Deep channels personal experiences into expansive, emotionally resonant music. Sanders said the new material echoes "the hunger of the band when they formed in early 2000.
