He also said that more than 50 relatives of some union managers working in the municipality will also be laid off. Tugay said that from now on, the municipality will hire personnel based on merit.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality announced the collective layoff decision with an official letter sent to the Belediye-İş Headquarters. According to the decision, 800 personnel will be laid off at İZDOĞA and 100 personnel will be laid off at İZULAŞ.
