London City Sign Former England Goalkeeper Mary Earps
On Friday, London City Lionesses announced the signing of goalkeeper Mary Earps on a two-year contract starting July 1, marking her return to the Women's Super League after two seasons with Paris Saint-Germain.
Earps, a 53-cap England international, was pivotal in the Euro 2022 triumph and the 2023 World Cup final run, having spent five seasons at Manchester United keeping 45 clean sheets before joining PSG.
Owned by American billionaire Michele Kang, the Lionesses finished sixth in their debut WSL season and now seek to climb the table with Earps' addition to their squad.
Expressing her excitement, Earps stated, "I'm over the moon to join this club and I'm really looking forward to it," citing alignment with the club's values and ambitious vision.
Acknowledging the competitive landscape, Earps noted the WSL is "extremely competitive" while committing to help the club achieve collective goals and drive positive change in women's football.
