- Maruti Suzuki India commissioned a pilot 300 kW green hydrogen electrolyzer plant at its Manesar facility in Haryana.
- The company said the hydrogen will be blended with natural gas and used as process fuel in manufacturing operations.
- Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said Maruti Suzuki aims to reduce manufacturing carbon emissions from 615,000 tonnes to 266,000 tonnes in FY 2030-31.
- Maruti Suzuki plans to expand green hydrogen use across its facilities in Haryana and Gujarat after evaluating the pilot project.

Maruti Suzuki India commissioned a 300 kW Green Hydrogen (GH2) electrolyzer plant, a pilot initiative, at its Manesar Facility. The project would help the firm maximise the use of its solar energy generated on-site. The Green Hydrogen produced would be blended with Natural gas to be used as process fuels in manufacturing operations. The auto-maker is in an advanced stage of setting up a 10 Tonnes Per Day (TPD) biogas plant at its Kharkhoda facility as well as recently approving 4 CBG projects, costing Rs 5,610 million.
