Marrit Steenbergen swam a fantastic time in the 100-meter freestyle at the Mare Nostrum competitions in France. The 26-year-old swimmer finished in 51.86 seconds, shattering her own Dutch record. In Canet-en-Roussillon, she came within just one and a half tenths of a second of the world record held by Swede Sarah Sjöström (51.71).
