A closely watched trial began Tuesday in the Spanish city of Oviedo against a German couple who held their three minor children captive amid piles of garbage for three and a half years.
The trial of the marriage accused of keeping its three children locked up for almost four years in a house on the outskirts of Oviedo will be held behind closed doors on 10 and 11 March in the second section of the Provincial High Court. The courtroom has agreed to exclude the public from the hearing to protect the child victims of the case, known as the “house of horrors”.
