Marlene Sue Perkins, 62, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026, at her home. Born on January 26, 1964, in Rushville, Indiana, Marlene was the daughter of Paul and Helen (Reynolds) Carpenter. Marlene worked for many years as a retail cashier. She enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music, watching television—especially comedy shows—and spending time talking with family and friends. She will be remembered for her friendly nature and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. She is survived by her sons, Peter Edwards and Jay Edwards (Nicole); her grandchildren, Daniel Richey Jr., Hunter Richey, Braydon Richey, Jonathon Dwiggins, Blaze Edwards, Drake Edwards, Jayden Edwards, Joanna Edwards, and Axel Edwards; her sister, Donna Robertson; and her brothers, Paul Edward Carpenter and J.C. Carpenter (Brenda). She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen Carpenter; her daughter, Kimberley Ann Richey; and her brother, Paul Junior Carpenter.
