The concentration of manganese in residential wells near the Semcorp factory in Debrecen has reached more than ten times the value specified for drinking water. The origin of the contamination is not yet known, which is why Greenpeace and Mikepércsi Anyák are initiating a comprehensive official investigation.
According to environmental organizations, the contamination was detected in three private wells, from which the owners drink, cook, water their animals and irrigate their gardens on a daily basis.
