Manchester Water Works changing over to free chlorine in Derry

Manchester Water Works, which supplies the Derry Water System’s drinking water, has scheduled a planned conversion from the disinfectant chloramine used in its water treatment process to free chlorine.

City will begin scheduled six-week conversion to chlorine in water treatment system starting Sept. 2

Manchester Water Works (MWW) has scheduled a conversion of the disinfectant chloramine used in our water treatment process to chlorine to begin September 2 and continue through the week of October 14th (six weeks). During this time residents may notice a slight change in the taste and smell of your drinking water that has no harmful effects.
