Man who died in Dunkeswell skydive was 'highly experienced'
- On Saturday, February 28, a 49-year-old man died following a skydive at Dunkeswell Aerodrome and was pronounced dead at the scene.
- In June last year, a double fatality occurred when Belinda Taylor, 48, and Adam Harrison, 30, died after parachutes failed; Skydive Buzz Ltd ceased trading and staff formed Skydive South West.
- Skydive South West said the man was an experienced licensed skydiver and wingsuit coach with over 10,000 jumps, carrying out a wingsuit jump with a friend using his personal parachute equipment and advanced wingsuit.
- Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the death, said scene guards remain, inquiries are ongoing, and the family have been informed.
- Local residents and the club say this is the third death at the site in less than nine months and urge restraint to avoid misinformation while supporting the family and staff.
