Man sentenced to life in prison for murder of Bogalusa woman killed while getting her hair done
HMP WETHERBY PRISON, JUL 22 – Jakele Pusey and Jovani Harriott stabbed a fellow inmate over 20 times in a prison gym attack six months after their life sentences for murder, court heard.
- Last Wednesday, Leeds Crown Court heard that Pusey and Harriott stabbed another inmate at HMP Wetherby prison six months after their sentences.
- In May 2023, cousins Jakele Pusey and Jovani Harriott received life sentences with minimum terms for murdering 15-year-old Khayri Mclean.
- More than 20 stab wounds were inflicted in under a minute, as Jakele Pusey, Jovani Harriott, and two others punched, kicked, and stamped on the inmate before security staff broke up the attack.
- Pusey pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and knife possession and received 32 months; Harriott received a further 38 months, court heard.
- Ahead of release, Harriott must undertake an anger management course, court heard.
