Man left with life-threatening injuries after car hits pedestrians in Arnold, Nottingham
Police say a red Vauxhall Astra struck several pedestrians and left one man with life-threatening injuries before the driver fled on foot.
On Saturday at 1.12am, a red Vauxhall Astra struck multiple pedestrians in Market Place, Arnold, leaving one victim with life-threatening injuries before the driver fled on foot, Nottinghamshire Police reported.
Detectives identified a suspect, believed to be a white man, and are currently tracking him down after he abandoned the vehicle at the scene.
Officers closed off Market Place and junctions connecting to Gedling Road, Derby Street, Hallams Lane, and Central Avenue while police urged motorists to avoid the area.
"There is no indication at this stage of any ongoing threat to the wider public," Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow said, though officers remain on-site to offer reassurance.
Police urge anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them by calling 101, quoting incident 46 of May 9, or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
