Man in custody after breaking into McPhee Elementary School with a knife, police say

A man was taken into custody after breaking into McPhee Elementary armed with a knife around 2 p.m. On Wednesday.
Lincoln Public Schools activated the Standard Response Protocol of Lockdown during the incident, keeping students safe inside classrooms.
No children or staff were injured during the incident, and there is no threat to the public, according to LPD Captain Don Scheinost.
The individual in custody is known to have mental health issues and has been taken to the Lancaster County Crisis Center.
