Man in Critical Condition After Being Doused in Petrol and Set on Fire
Two men in their 20s were arrested after a man in his 40s was doused in petrol and set on fire, leaving him in critical condition, Gardaí said.
- On Saturday evening in Co. Tipperary, a man in his 40s was left in critical condition after being doused in petrol and set alight and was rushed to hospital.
- A row between three men resulted in one man trying to drive away but crashing into a fence at Knockane, Ballylooby about 8km from Cahir at about 11pm.
- Emergency services treated and transported the victim to Cork University Hospital before transferring him to St James’s Hospital, while Gardaí technical experts sealed the scene and began forensic examination.
- Two men in their 20s were arrested and remain in custody at Cahir Garda station, detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 with questioning delayed until about 8am on Sunday.
