A Monmouth County man will spend over five years in prison for robbing a bank with a handgun last year, federal prosecutors announced Wednesday.A federal judge on Monday sentenced Jeffrey L. Kniffin, 51, of Wall Township, to 63 months behind bars for robbing a Bank of America branch near his home with a handgun on Oct. 23, 2024. He pleaded guilty to the charge of armed bank robbery in July.

TRENTON — A Wall Township man who pulled off an armed bank robbery but was caught just minutes later has been sentenced to a little more than five years in federal prison, Acting U.S. Attorney and Special Attorney Alina Habba announced.
