Man died after abnormal blood test missed by doctors surgery

An abnormal heart test result was misfiled at Quarry Bank Medical Centre, delaying specialist referral and treatment that could have reduced the 50% two-year mortality risk of aortic stenosis.

A GP surgery failed to spot abnormal results in the blood test of a 66-year-old man who later died after suffering a cardiac arrest, a coroner has found.
