Man dead, suspect at large after shooting in Abbotsford, B.C.

A 69-year-old homeless encampment resident died after a targeted shooting at Whatcom Road Park and Ride, with no arrests made, police said.

  • On Monday shortly after 11 p.m., the Abbotsford Police Department responded to a shooting at a park-and-ride lot off Whatcom Road, where a 69-year-old resident of the encampment sustained fatal injuries.

  • As of Tuesday morning, investigators have made no arrests in connection with the fatal shooting, while the investigation into the circumstances continues in the Fraser Valley.
