Man, 33, Appears in Court Charged with Murder of Noreen Daly in Waterford
Gardaí say the 33-year-old knew the 81-year-old woman, and the crime scene was sealed for forensic examination.
On Wednesday, Finn Yowell, 33, appeared before Carrick-on-Suir District Court charged with the murder of 81-year-old Noreen Daly, whose body was discovered at her Ardsallagh home on Monday.
Gardaí found Daly's body after a welfare check on Monday afternoon near Youghal Bridge, where she had moved permanently about eight weeks ago following her husband's death in late 2023.
The Clashmore and Kinsalebeg Community Council remembered Daly as "kind, caring and generous," while Gardaí received reports of Yowell having "falling outs" and concerns about his "stability."
Following solicitor Ken Cunningham's request for medical and psychiatric assessments, Judge John O'Leary remanded Yowell in custody to appear before Clonmel District Court on June 23.
An autopsy conducted Tuesday at University Hospital Waterford confirmed multiple injuries, while investigators examine reports that Yowell was seen driving Daly's car around the time of her death.
