Man Charged with Murder of Mum Who Went Missing From Dudley 27 Years Ago

Trevor Dunkley, 66, is accused in a cold case that police say began 28 years ago and is seeking witnesses.

  • Police have charged 66-year-old Trevor Dunkley with the murder of mother-of-seven Patricia Lashley, who disappeared from her Dudley home almost 28 years ago.
  • Lashley was 33 when she vanished from her Hall Street flat in September 1998, having moved to Dudley in the mid-1990s and using the names Jade, Vanessa, and Tricia.
  • It is understood Dunkley and Lashley knew one another. Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell stated police seek information from anyone familiar with either individual; call 101 quoting log 3984.
  • Dunkley remains in custody and is remanded to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday, July 13, to face the murder charge.
  • Officers are supporting Lashley's family to help them find closure after nearly 30 years. Police previously issued a fresh appeal last year marking what would have been her 60th birthday.
