British national arrested in connection with RAF Fairford incident
British police arrested a 22-year-old man in Westminster, London, on Tuesday in connection with a suspected terror plot at the US-run RAF Fairford air base in Gloucestershire.
Police declared a major incident last month after being alerted to three "suspicious vehicles" near the airbase, prompting the evacuation of dozens of homes in the area.
Six other men were arrested earlier, including a 25-year-old dual Iranian-British national detained on October 1; all six have been released on police bail during the investigation.
Senior national coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing, Vicki Evans, said the case "remains a live investigation" and police are continuing to "pursue multiple lines of enquiry."
This arrest in central London marks the seventh action in the investigation concerning a suspected plot against RAF Fairford in western England.
