Man and Woman Found Dead in Renfrewshire as Police Probe 'Unexplained' Incident
Police said post-mortem examinations will determine the cause after a 36-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were found dead.
On Monday, July 27, emergency services discovered the bodies of a 36-year-old woman and 43-year-old man at a residence on Corsliehill Road in Houston, Renfrewshire, following reports of concern for a person.
The deceased were identified as Jim Mair, 43, and Stacy Mair, 35, a married couple who operated a tree surgery business together before Stacy stepped down as a director earlier this year.
Police Scotland stated the deaths are being treated as "unexplained," with post-mortem examinations to be carried out to determine the exact cause of death as extensive enquiries continue.
Images from Tuesday reveal a significant police presence stationed outside the cottage, with officers searching nearby woodland following an emergency response that included four special operations response teams and two ambulances.
Officials stated there is nothing to suggest anyone else was involved in the incident, and specialist officers are supporting the relatives while the investigation remains ongoing.
