Man Pleads Not Guilty to Trying to Kill 10 People in Mass Train Stabbing
Anthony Williams denied 10 attempted murder counts and 11 other offences after a mass stabbing on an LNER train, court records show.
On Thursday, Anthony Williams, 33, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court by video-link and pleaded not guilty to 21 charges, including 10 counts of attempted murder from a London-bound LNER train stabbing.
Charges stem from the November 1, 2025, train attack and separate incidents including theft at an Asda store in Stevenage, affray at a barbershop in Peterborough, and assault at Pontoon Dock DLR in London.
Appearing via video-link in a white T-shirt, Williams stated "Not guilty" to each charge; Judge Mark Bishop remanded him in custody until trial on October 26.
The court scheduled a further case management hearing for October 2, after previously rescheduling the trial from June to allow for receipt of additional reports.
Passenger Stephen Crean was hailed as a hero for saving others during the LNER service incident, which left 10 people hospitalized following the stabbings near Huntingdon.
