Around sixty civilians held hostage by the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) were released between Thursday, August 13, and Friday, August 14. Abducted along several roads in western Mali, which is under a jihadist blockade, they were able to rejoin their families in Nioro, Bamako, or Kayes.
