Major UK toy retailer introduces £2 fee for customers under new rule
Customers who miss the collection window will be charged £2, and Smyths says refunds on the remaining balance can take up to five working days.
Smyths Toys Superstores has introduced a £2 non-collection fee for click and collect orders not retrieved within two days of placement.
The retailer operates more than 120 stores in Ireland and beyond, with more than 300 locations across Europe, requiring inventory management systems.
Under these new terms, uncollected orders are automatically cancelled; Smyths Toys specified the "non-collection fee does not apply to pre-orders or partial/short-picked orders."
Customers awaiting refunds should note the release of remaining funds can take up to five working days, a process outside Smyths Toys's control.
Despite operational shifts, Smyths Toys recently announced plans for a new High Wycombe store while maintaining status as the "fastest growing toy retailer.
